Have you noticed a mole or skin mark that looks different?
Maybe it has changed shape, colour or size.
Maybe it feels itchy, sore or raised.
Maybe it keeps catching on clothing.
Or maybe you have simply looked at it a few times and thought, “I should probably get that checked.”
It is very common to feel unsure about moles and skin marks.
Some changes are harmless, but it is always better to take changes seriously and seek advice when something looks or feels different.
At Bosworth Health Suite & Pharmacy, we offer Map My Mole, a private mole and skin lesion checking service designed to help you get professional review and clear next-step guidance.
What is Map My Mole?
Map My Mole is a digital mole and skin lesion review service.
During your appointment, images of the mole or skin lesion are taken using specialist imaging technology. These images are then securely submitted for review by a UK consultant dermatologist.
You will receive a digital report with advice on what the lesion may represent and what your next steps should be.
When should you get a mole checked?
You should seek advice if you notice:
- A mole that has changed size
- A mole that has changed shape
- A mole that has changed colour
- A mole that is painful or itchy
- A mole that is inflamed, bleeding or crusty
- A new or unusual skin mark that has not gone away
- A dark area under a nail that has not been caused by injury
If you are worried about a mole or skin lesion, it is always better to get it checked.
Why book privately?
Many people delay getting a mole checked because they are unsure whether it is “serious enough”.
You may think:
It is probably nothing.
It has been there for ages.
I do not want to waste anyone’s time.
I am not sure if it has changed.
I will keep an eye on it.
I will book something if it gets worse.
But if a mole or skin mark is worrying you, checking it can give you clarity and peace of mind.
What happens during your appointment?
Your appointment is simple and guided.
- We will discuss the mole or skin mark you are concerned about.
- Images will be taken using specialist dermoscopic imaging.
